APPEAL to both countries- Palestinian not allowed to enter North Gaza - Ceasefire issue

Appeal to Israel

As of January 26, 2025, the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has been in effect for approximately one week. This agreement, initiated on January 19, 2025, includes provisions for the return of Gazans to the northern areas of the Gaza Strip.

Israel is keeping thousands of Palestinians from returning to their homes in northern Gaza through Netzarim corridor bisecting Gaza.

On Sunday as it accused Hamas of violating a fragile ceasefire by changing the order of hostages it has released. Now there is a standoff.

The Israeli military has designated the two access points to the Netzarim Corridor as no-go zones to provide force protection for troops inside the zone, threatening to shoot those “trespassing” the area around the Salah al-Din Road in central Gaza and the Al-Rashid coastal highway, where most of the civilian population has been moving out of the north and heading south.

Salah Al-Din is main highway of the Gaza Strip, a territory of the State of Palestine. The highway extends over 45 kilometers, spanning the entire length of the territory from the Rafah Crossing in the south to the Erez Crossing in the north.

Local health officials said Israeli forces fired on the crowd, killing two people and wounding nine.

It is important to acknowledge that although the ceasefire has generally been upheld, there have been reports of violations and tensions on both sides.

On January 20, at least three Palestinians were killed and eight others injured by Israeli gunfire in Rafah, despite the ceasefire.

On January 21, reports indicated that two individuals were wounded by an Israeli drone and gunfire in Gaza.

On January 25, reports indicate thousands of Gazans not allowed to enter due to road blockade of Salah Al Din

These incidents underscore the fragility of the ceasefire and the persistent challenges in maintaining peace in the region.

Is this what we want?

Both parties must recognize that any significant violations could lead to the collapse of the agreement, endangering the lives of the remaining hostages and the people of Gaza at the Natzarim corridor. Following Donald Trump's announcement regarding the relocation of Gazans to Jordan and Egypt, there is a plan to retain all Gazans, which could provoke international outcry and potentially lead to the International Criminal Court issuing an arrest warrant for Trump. This situation could further complicate Trump's presidency, pushing it into serious jeopardy.

Additionally, there have been reports of Israeli forces not withdrawing from southern Lebanon and allegedly firing on innocent individuals, resulting in the deaths of 15 people. Such actions are deeply concerning and necessitate reflection and accountability.
