How will the hostage release be carried out- light at end of tunnel
Introduction
The hostage release process, as outlined in the emerging ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, is expected to be carried out in multiple phases:
Initial Phase
Duration: 42 days (6 weeks)
Number of hostages: 33 Israeli hostages to be released by Hamas
Composition: Women, children, men over 50, and those requiring medical attention
Timeline
Day 1: 3 hostages to be released
Day 7: 4 hostages to be released
Every 7 days thereafter: 3 hostages to be released
Exchange Ratio
For each woman or child hostage: Israel to release 30 Palestinian women and children from its prisons
For each hostage over 50: Israel to release 30 Palestinian prisoners aged 50 or older
Additional Details
The release will begin with living hostages, followed by the return of bodies of deceased hostages
Five Israeli female soldiers held by Hamas may be exchanged, with each soldier being traded for 50 Palestinian detainees, including 30 serving life sentences
Subsequent Phases
The second phase would involve the release of all remaining Israeli male hostages
The third phase would include the exchange of bodies of deceased hostages and prisoners
Conditions
A complete ceasefire in Gaza will be implemented during the exchange to allow aid to enter
Palestinian civilians will be permitted to move freely back to northern Gaza, with unspecified “security arrangements” in place
Conclusion
The exchange ratio is very important keeping in mind children , women and elderly. This is a great plus point on Hamas.
It would be very sad to see dead body exchange.
The implementation of this deal is expected to commence on Sunday, January 19, 2025, pending final approval from both parties and the Israeli government.
