Russia recent attack on Ukraine energy infrastructure
On December 13, 2024, Russia conducted a significant aerial assault on Ukraine, launching 93 missiles and nearly 200 drones, primarily targeting the country’s energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that 81 missiles were intercepted by air defenses, including those supported by Western F-16 jets.
This attack is noted as one of the heaviest since the full-scale invasion began nearly three years ago, contributing to widespread blackouts and damage across multiple regions, particularly in western Ukraine.
The Kremlin claims these strikes are retaliatory for Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory.
