Dubai latest project on roadmap 2024

Introduction

Here are some of the latest initiatives and developments in the UAE:


UAE Government’s Annual Meetings 2024
The UAE Government recently concluded its Annual Meetings 2024, which brought together over 500 leaders and officials from federal and local entities.

Key outcomes include:


   1.    Launch of the National Investment Strategy 2031
   2.    Announcement of a polar research project
   3.    Introduction of community initiatives valued at AED 500 million
   4.    Launch of the National Anti-Drug Strategy
   5.    Ratification of 22 international agreements and MoUs with 17 countries

Young Government Leaders Program 2024

As part of the Annual Meetings, the UAE Government launched the Young Government Leaders Program 2024, which aims to:


   1.    Highlight and amplify the role of young government leaders across the UAE
   2.    Provide 45 young leaders from federal and local government entities with insights into key national directions, strategies, and projects
   3.    Prepare participants for future leadership roles and enable them to contribute to significant development transformations


Sustainability Initiatives


The UAE has extended its Year of Sustainability to include 2024, focusing on:


   1.    Responsible consumption
   2.    Green transportation
   3.    Water and energy reduction
   4.    Planting wisely


Additionally, the UAE is developing a national carbon registry and has announced plans for a carbon credits trading program in the future.


Infrastructure and Development Projects

Several major infrastructure projects are underway or planned:


   1.    Palm Jebel Ali: A megaproject twice the size of Palm Jumeirah, featuring 80 hotels and resorts
   2.    Dubai Reefs: A floating living lab and marine institute, including the world’s largest artificial reef
   3.    Surf Abu Dhabi: Set to be the world’s biggest and most advanced artificial wave facility
   4.    Wynn Al Marjan Island: A mega casino resort in Ras Al Khaimah, scheduled to open in early 2027


Cybersecurity Initiatives


The UAE Cybersecurity Council has launched programs to empower youth in cybersecurity:


   1.    “Cyber Pulse” for awareness and training
   2.    “CYBER E71” to support startups in the cybersecurity sector
